We are a musical bunch, with many different choirs for various age groups!
Alleluia Chorus and Sanctuary Choir meet on Thursday evenings:
6:30 p.m. – Alleluia Chorus Lesson
7:00 p.m. – Alleluia Chorus Rehearsal
7:30 p.m. – Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal
8:00 p.m. – Bell Choir Rehearsal (Seasonal)
Teen Choir meets on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
After their rehearsal, they go to their Sunday school class.
Alleluia Chorus (Kindergarten – 5th grade): This group begins their rehearsals with a lesson, either based on their theme for the year or for the current season of the church year. In addition to learning Bible stories that go along with their annual theme, they also learn how to read music, how to use the hymnal, and how to match pitch. They sing on the 2nd Sunday of each month (October-April) and work together with the Teen Choir to perform the Christmas Musical each year.
Teen Choir (6th-12th grade): This group begins with rehearsal. They build off techniques they have learned in the Alleluia Chorus and begin learning to sing in rounds and in parts. Though many members have grown up in the Alleluia Chorus, it is easy to come into this group and not feel like you’ve fallen behind. They sing on the 4th Sunday of each month (October-April) and work together with the Alleluia Chorus to perform the Christmas Musical each year.
Sanctuary Choir: This group also begins with rehearsal and sings in parts. All adults are welcome to participate in this choir. For larger services, the Alleluia Chorus and Teen Choir will join with the Sanctuary Choir for larger pieces of music. They sing on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.
Bell Choir: This group meets seasonally to play for larger festival Sundays of the church year — Christmas and Easter. If you can swing a hammer, you are welcome to join in the fun of the bell choir!
